THE GHOSTLIGHT THEATRE OPENED IN 2019 AS A THEATRE PERFORMANCE VENUE IN THE BENTON HARBOR ARTS DISTRICT. GHOSTLIGHT SEEKS TO ILLUMINATE THE ARTS AND CULTURE OF THE AREA. WE CREATE EVENTS WHERE CHILDREN AND ADULTS ARE MORE THAN OBSERVERS, BUT THEY BECOME ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN CREATION AND EXPLORATION OF A VARIETY OF PERFORMANCE MEDIA.
EACH SUMMER, GHOSTLIGHT THEATRE HOSTS A SUMMER CAMP CALLED CIRCESTEEM MICHIGAN. THE CAMP BRINGS TOGETHER YOUTH FROM DIVERSE RACIAL, CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS AND HELPS CHILDREN BUILD SELF-ESTEEM AND MUTUAL RESPECT THROUGH THE PRACTICE AND PERFORMANCE OF CIRCUS ARTS, COLLABORATION WITH EACH OTHER, AND THE SELF-DISCIPLINE REQUIRED TO PERFORM AT A HIGH LEVEL.
