THE MISSION OF THE COALITION IS TO IMPROVE PERSONAL AND COMMUNITY HEALTH AND WELLNESS WITHIN THE AFRICAN COMMUNITY BY INCREASING THE AVAILABILITY OF CULTURALLY RELEVANT PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.

THE AFRICAN COMMUNITIES PUBLIC HEALTH COALITION(ACPHC) IN COOPERATION WITH THE LOS ANGELES DEPT OF MENTAL HEALTH HAS PRODUCED CULTURALLY COMPETENT CURRICULUM FOR LAY PERSONS TO BE RESOURCES FOR THE COMMUNITY. ACPHC THROUGH THIS PROJECT HAS CONTINUED TO PROVIDE INCREASE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND EDUCATION, REDUCE STIGMA AND PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. THE AFRICAN COALITION AND ITS CONTRACTING PARTNERS, AND THE COMMUNITY CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER TO DEVELOP WAYS TO MAKE COMMUNITY SERVICES MORE ACCESSIBLE, CULTURAL COMPETENT BETTER INTEGRATED AND OUTCOME-FOCUSED.
