EACH ONE TEACH ONE EXISTS TO IMPROVE THE LITERACY LEVELS OF SAN ANTONIO'S ADULT POPULATION THROUGH INDIVIDUALIZED CURRICULA AND ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING CLASSES: HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PREP, ADULT BASIC LITERACY, ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) AND DIGITAL LITERACY.

ADULT BASIC EDUCATION ABE: ABE CLASSES FOCUS ON BASIC SKILLS FOR ADULTS OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE WHO HAVE NOT YET COMPLETED HIGH SCHOOL OR HAVE LIMITED ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS. STUDENTS ARE TAUGHT LITERACY SKILLS IN READING, LANGUAGE ARTS, MATH, SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL STUDIES. AFTER COMPLETING ABE CLASSES, STUDENTS MOVE TO HSE HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY CLASSES TO PREPARE FOR HSE EXAMS, E.G. GED. AFTER RECEIVING AN HSE CERTIFICATE, STUDENTS WILL TRANSITION TO TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL TRAINING, COLLEGE OR EMPLOYMENT. 205 STUDENTS WERE SERVED IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021.


ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE, ESL. THE ESL PROGRAM IS A PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION DESIGNED TO HELP ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS ACHIEVE COMPETENCE IN READING, WRITING, SPEAKING AND COMPREHENSION OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEADING TO THE ATTAINMENT OF HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATION AND/OR TRANSITION TO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION AND TRAINING OR EMPLOYMENT. 36 STUDENTS WERE SERVED IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021.
