MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO PROMOTE DEEPER MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN JAPAN AND MICHIGAN THROUGH CONTRIBUTION TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES. SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES AS CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITIES ARE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIP AND GRANT AWARD TO BOTH THE UNIVERSITY AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO WANT TO STUDY IN JAPAN. ALSO, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE ACTIVITIES OF NPOS IN MICHIGAN IN THREE FIELDS WHICH ARE COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT, EDUCATION & RESEARCH, AND US-JAPAN RELATION.
