THE UNITED WAY OF YOUNGSTOWN AND THE MAHONING VALLEY RAISES MONEY WHICH A COMMITTEE OF VOLUNTEERS ALLOCATES TO VARIOUS LOCAL AGENCIES. WE HAVE A PLANNING AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT THAT CONTINUOUSLY ASSESSES AND ATTEMPTS TO MEET THE AREA'S SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS.


THE UNITED WAY HAS DEVELOPED COMMUNITY-BASED, COLLABORATIVE STRATEGIES TO DRIVE CHANGE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. THE PROGRAMS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS INITIATIVE CONSIST OF: SUCCESS AFTER 6, SUCCESS BY 6, AND IMAGINATION LIBRARY. SUCCESS BY 6 IS CURRENTLY AT 25 DIFFERENT SCHOOL SITES AND SERVES OVER 650 STUDENTS.
