DISABILITY NETWORK EASTERN MICHIGAN (DNEM) IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING INCLUSION FOR ALL BY BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS AND OPENING PATHS TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE AND PERSONAL CHOICE THROUGH RESOURCES, ADVOCACY, INFORMATION, SUPPORT AND EDUCATION. DNEM HAD MANY PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENTS TO CELEBRATE THIS PAST YEAR INCLUDING: (1) DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMPANION PET INITIATIVE, TABLET DISTRIBUTION AND TECH ASSESSMENT INITIATIVE; (2) HOSTING VACCINE CLINICS THAT WERE SAFE, ACCESSIBLE AND ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF THOSE WITH SENSITIVITY CONCERNS; (3) VIRTUAL ASL CLASSES AND RECREATION CLASSES; (4) VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION PROGRAMS, INCLUDING JOB CLUB, SMART MONEY, SOFT SKILLS, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, CAREER EXPLORATION, AND COPING WITH COVID.
