THE MISSION OF THE MICHIGAN STATE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION IS TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR ITS MEMBERS TO DISSEMINATE THEIR PERCEPTIONS AND IDEAS FOR THE FIRE SERVICE. TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR SUPPRESSION, MANAGEMENT, AND PREVENTION. TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT LEGISLATION THAT WILL PROVIDE GREATER SAFETY TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AGAINST FIRE DANGER AND ANY OTHER EMERGENCY OR DISASTER, FOR ALL FIRE FIGHTERS AND CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.

Part 3 - Line 4a

TO PROVIDE WRITTEN MATERIAL IN ALL ASPECTS OF FIREFIGHTING, RESCUE OPERATIONS, AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS. PROVIDE BOOKSTORE SERVICE TO INDIVIDUAL AND DEPARTMENT MEMBERS, ONE SOURCE FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING MATERIALS.


PREPARE AND PRINT "FIREPLUG" MAGAZINE TO KEEP FIREFIGHTERS AND RESCUE PERSONNEL INFORMED OF NEW AND UPDATED INFORMATION AND EQUIPMENT AS WELL AS CURRENT ACTIVITY IN THE STATE. THE MAGAZINE IS PRINTED QUARTERLY AND SENT TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION.


CONTINUING EDUCATION THROUGH TRAINING SEMINARS AND ANNUAL CONFERENCE. TRAINING DONE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MSFA MEMORIAL AND EDUCATION SERVICES COMPANY, A RELATED 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION.


TRAINING EVENTS, BOOKSTORE SUPPORT, MEMBERSHIP PROCESSING, FUNERAL SUPPORT, LINE OF DUTY DEATH PAYMENTS, AND MEMBER INSURANCE.
