NURSING PRACTICE CORPORATION (NPC) IS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO THE SICK AND INJURED, WITHOUT REGARD TO RACE, COLOR, CREED, SEX, AGE, OR ABILITY TO PAY FOR SERVICES. SPECIFICALLY, NPC OPERATES THE CAMPUS HEALTH CENTER ON WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY (WSU) CAMPUS, PROVIDING HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO THE WSU COMMUNITY. NPC ALSO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES TO UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE NURSING STUDENTS AT WSU COLLEGE OF NURSING, AS WELL AS OTHER WSU DEGREE STUDENTS REQUIRING INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCES. THE NURSING PRACTICE CORPORATION IS A NON-PROFIT NURSE-MANAGED FACILITY. THE PURPOSE OF THE CORPORATION IS TO PROVIDE NURSING SERVICES TO WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY ("WSU") STUDENTS, EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES TO NURSING STUDENTS AT WSU COLLEGE OF NURSING, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO CONDUCT SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS AND RESEARCH SO THAT THIS KNOWLEDGE MAYBE DISSEMINATED THROUGH PUBLIC AND PROFESSIONAL CHANNELS. THESE AMOUNTS REPRESENT THE EXPENDITURES OF SALARIES, MEDICAL AND OTHER SUPPLIES, AND OVERHEAD EXPENSES INCURRED IN RUNNING THE CAMPUS HEALTH CENTER AT WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY. THIS PROGRAM IS THE LARGEST PROGRAM OPERATED BY NPC, AND CONSISTS OF IN-CLINIC MEDICAL VISITS, OFF-LOCATION SPECIALTY CLINICS (FLU CLINICS, TB TESTING CLINICS, ETC.), AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS AIMED AT FURTHERING THE HEALTHCARE OF WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.
