GREATER LANSING FOOD BANK'S CORE PROGRAM IS THE LARGE-SCALE WAREHOUSING AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD FOR THOSE IN NEED WHICH IS DONE THROUGH A VARIETY OF METHODS INCLUDING MOBILE DISTRIBUTIONS, EMERGENCY FOOD KITS, A 140+ MEMBER AGENCY NETWORK AND OTHER NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY PARTNERS. 10,005,300 POUNDS OF FOOD WERE DISTRIBUTED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR THROUGHOUT A SEVEN-COUNTY SERVICE AREA IN MID-MICHIGAN.


THE GARDEN PROJECT - THIS PROGRAM OFFERS RESOURCE SUPPORT TO GROW AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES RELATING TO GROWING TECHNIQUES FOR LIMITED RESOURCE OR SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED INDIVIDUALS. TOOLS, WATER, ACCESS TO LAND AND LAND PREP, SUPPORT, SEEDS AND TRAINING ARE PROVIDED BY THE FOOD BANK. 11,712 HOUSEHOLDS WERE SERVED BY 88 COMMUNITY GARDEN SITES.
