IHDN IS A MEDICAL MISSIONS ORGANIZATION THAT RECRUITS AND TRAIN VOLUNTEER HEALTH CARE WORKERS. THESE VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE TO PEOPLE LIVING IN SMALL TOWNS AND VILLAGES WITH LITTLE RESOURCES. IHDN OWNS AND OPERATES THE IHDN MISSIONS HOSPITAL, A 120-BED HOSPITAL AT WETA-ADZADOKPO, GHANA, WEST AFRICA. IHDN MISSION HOSPITAL PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE TO OVER 35,000 POOR VILLAGERS IN GHANA EVERY YEAR. IHDN VOLUNTEERS HAVE LED CHRISTIAN WORSHIP AND ARE INVOLVED IN THE BUILDING OF ROADS, PROVIDING CLEAN WATER, CONSTRUCTION OF HOSPITAL STAFF APARTMENTS, AND PROVIDING ELECTRICITY TO POOR VILLAGES. IHDN MISSION HOSPITAL IS AN ELECTIVES DESTINATION FOR THE TRAINING OF MEDICAL STUDENTS AND DOCTORS FROM THE US IN TROPICAL MEDICINE & INTERNATIONAL HEALTH. IHDN HAS ALSO PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE TRAINING OF POOR VILLAGE STUDENTS IN MEDICINE, NURSING, AND MIDWIFERY IN GHANA. THESE GRADUATES NOW PORVIDE NEED MEDICAL CARE TO THEIR FELLOW VILLAGERS IN GHANA.
