COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES: THE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM INVOLVES METHODS OF DEVELOPMENT REMEDIATION AND ENHANCEMENT THAT ATTEMPTS TO AFFECT AN IMPROVED MENTAL AND PHYSICAL CONDITION AND/OR RELATED BEHAVIORS OF INDIVIDUALS. THE CASE COORDINATION UNIT IS A SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENTLY FUNCTIONING UNIT THAT SYNCHRONIZES AND FACILITATES DIRECT AND SUPPORT SERVICES AND/OR LINKS THE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED AND MENTALLY ILL CHILDREN AND ADULT CLIENTS RESIDING IN SHELBY COUNTY TO OTHER SERVICE AND DELIVERY AGENCIES.
CLIENT TRAINING SERVICES: THE VOCATIONAL EVALUATION PROGRAM PROVIDES FOR THE "VOCATIONALLY HANDICAPPED" INDIVIDUAL IN ORDER TO ASSESS STRENGTHS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ATTAINING A VOCATIONAL GOAL. THE WORK ADJUSTMENT TRAINING IS A TRANSITIONAL PROCESS THAT IS IMPLEMENTED TO SERVE THE VOCATIONALLY HANDICAPPED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING HIS/HER WORK COMPETENCIES. THE REGULAR WORK PROGRAM PROVIDES SHELTERED AND/OR TRANSITIONAL WORK TO THOSE WHO HAVE HAD PRIOR VOCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT. THE DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING PROGRAM ENHANCES FUNCTIONAL SKILLS FOR DAILY LIVING. THE PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM SERVICES MENTALLY ILL AND DUAL DIAGNOSIS" ADULTS WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO TOLERATE FROM OTHER "DAY MODE PROGRAMS" DUE TO MENTAL ILLNESS/EMOTIONAL DISABILITIES. THE PROGRAM ASSISTED APPROXIMATELY 80 INDIVIDUALS.
LIVING ASSISTANCE SERVICES: THE COMMUNITY INTEGRATED LIVING ARRANGEMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 24 DISABLED INDIVIDUALS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THE SKILLS AND TO RECEIVE THE ASSISTANCE NECESSARY TO PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE IN DAILY LIVING. THE COMMUNITY RESIDENTIAL ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM PROVIDES CONSTANT SUPERVISION, TRAINING, AND ASSISTANCE TO SEVERE AND PROFOUNDLY MENTALLY HANDICAPPED ADULTS IN A HOME LIKE ENVIRONMENT TO ENABLED THE RESIDENT TO MAINTAIN AND DEVELOP THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO REMAIN IN A LEAST RESTRICTIVE RESIDENTIAL SETTING. THE COMMUNITY LIVING ARRANGEMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL SERVICES TO ADULTS WHO HAVE A PSYCHIATRIC DISABILITY, MODERATELY IMPAIRED, AND ARE CAPABLE OF BENEFITING FROM THE DAILY SUPERVISION AND TRAINING TO ENABLED THE RESIDENT TO ACHIEVE AND MAINTAIN HIS/HER LEAST RESTRICTIVE RESIDENTIAL SETTING.
