THE COUNCIL PROVIDES A FORUM FOR ITS MEMBERS TO DISCUSS AND RESOLVE ISSUES AND ENSURE EXCELLENT COOPERATION AMONG KEY INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS INTERNATIONALLY. THE COUNCIL PROMOTES OPEN DIALOGUE BETWEEN ITS MEMBERS AND SCIENTIFIC AND GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, CONSUMERS GROUPS--ON TOPICS RELATED TO THE SAFE USE AND BENEFITS OF LOW- AND REDUCED-CALORIE INGREDIENTS AND PRODUCTS. AS PART OF THIS OBJECTIVE, CAREFUL ATTENTION TO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH HAS BEEN A CORNERSTONE OF THE COUNCIL SINCE ITS FOUNDING.
