AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTEERISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING COMMUNITIES THROUGH EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP.

Part 3 - Line 4a

JLE-NS THRIFT HOUSE: PROVIDES DONATED, QUALITY, LOW COST GOODS AND VOLUNTEERS TO RUN THE THRIFT STORE. THE STORE SERVES THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES FOCUSING ON LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED. THE THRIFT STORE GIVES THE JLE-NS THE OPPORTUNITY TO OFFER A VOUCHER PROGRAM TO ASSIST OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE LOCAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER. LARGE BAGS OF USEFUL GOODS WERE ALSO DONATED TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS.


JLE-NS COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES: PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR ADVANCING EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORTING FAMILIES. WE INCREASED OUR COMMUNITY GRANT FUND TO SUPPORT ADDITIONAL ORGANIZATIONS WHOSE MISSION ALIGNS WITH OUR OWN: COVID 19 IMPACT RELIEF, EQUITY AND EQUALITY, AND PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDING VOLUNTEERING. OUTREACH PROJECTS THIS YEAR INCLUDED: A SUMMER CAMP SUPPLY DRIVE FOR CONNECTIONS FOR THE HOMELESS, THE FILLING OF PURSES WITH TOILETRIES FOR WOMEN IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATIONS, AND MANY OTHER ACTIVITIES.


JLE-NS VOLUNTEER RELATION: PROVIDES TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO PROMOTE VOLUNTEER RELATIONS FOR THE BENEFIT OF COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND SPONSORSHIP ACTIVITIES. MEMBERS ATTENDED A THREE PART SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT SERIES ON THE TOPIC OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING. BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN A TEAM BUILDING RETREAT WHERE THEY ALSO LEARNED LEAGUE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
