ON THE EDGE OF THE GREAT BASIN, PLAYA OFFERS CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS THE SPACE, SOLITUDE AND THE COMMUNITY TO REFLECT AND TO ENGAGE THEIR WORK THROUGH ITS RESIDENCY PROGRAM. PLAYA SUPPORTS INNOVATIVE THINKING THROUGH WORK IN THE ARTS, LITERATURE, NATURAL SCIENCES AND OTHER FIELDS OF CREATIVE INQUIRY AND ENCOURAGES DIALOGUE BETWEEN DISCIPLINES TO BRING POSITIVE CHANGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE WORLD.

PLAYA RESIDENCY: THE FLAGSHIP PROGRAM OF PLAYA, THIS FELLOWSHIP AWARD PROVIDES ARTISTS AND SCIENTISTS (APPROXIMATELY 150 PER YEAR) TIME AND SPACE TO CREATE AT PLAYA'S 65-ACRE FACILITY FOR TWO-, FOUR-, AND EIGHT-WEEK RESIDENCIES. RESIDENTS ARE PROVIDED LODGING, TWO MEALS A WEEK, STUDIO SPACE AND MANY OTHER BENEFITS ALLOWING THEM TO FOCUS THEIR CREATIVE ENERGIES ON THEIR WORK AND TO SHARE THEM DURING THE RESIDENCY AS THEY WISH WITH OTHER PLAYA RESIDENTS AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES.
