FOUNDED IN 2007, JUSTICE DEFENDERS WORK ACROSS 25+ PRISONS IN AFRICA WHERE PRISONERS AND OFFICERS TRAIN AND PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS. IN 2021 ALONE, JUSTICE DEFENDERS' PARALEGALS SUPPORTED MORE THAN 38,400 INCARCERATED CLIENTS WITH FREE LEGAL SERVICES IN THEIR PRISON-BASED LEGAL OFFICES. 6,000 OF THOSE CLIENTS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY RELEASED FROM PRISON.

FOUNDED IN 2007, WE WORK ACROSS 25+ PRISONS IN AFRICA WHERE PRISONERS AND OFFICERS TRAIN AND PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS.IN MANY COUNTRIES, SUSPECTS ARE DETAINED IN PRISON ALMOST AUTOMATICALLY ONCE THEY ARE ARRESTED. WHATEVER THE OFFENSE. SOME, YES, ARE GUILTY. MANY ARE POOR, VULNERABLE, AND UNJUSTLY TARGETED. REGARDLESS, LIVES ARE LOST WAITING FOR JUSTICE TO ARRIVE.OUR WORK HELPS THE HUMANS WITHIN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM FLOURISH.
