THE COUNCIL OF BATON ROUGE IS MADE UP OF CONFERENCES (GROUPS OF VOLUNTEERS) THAT MAKE HOME VISITS TO THOSE IN NEED. EACH CONFERENCE FURTHERS THE CATHOLIC TEACHING OF SOLIDARITY TO ACT IN FAVOR OF THE WELL BEING OF ALL, AND PARTICULARLY, REACH OUT TO THOSE WHO ARE MOST IN NEED. CONFERENCES ASSIST THE POOR WITH: FOOD, CLOTHING, RENT AND MORTGAGE PAYMENTS, UTILITY BILLS, FURNITURE, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND MANY OTHER NEEDS. LAST YEAR, CONFERENCE MEMBERS ASSISTED OVER 2,000 HOUSEHOLDS AND SERVED MANY WHO HAD NOWHERE ELSE TO TURN FOR HELP.
