GHSAA SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDES A SCHOLARSHIP TO A STUDENT SELECTED BY THE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. BECAUSE OF COVID-19 THE SCHOOL COUNSELORS SELECTED OUR 2020 RECIPIENT. ONE STUDENT WAS AWARDED THE SCHOLARSHIP.
PETE MOORE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS SELECTED BY THE ASSOCIATION AND OUTSIDE INDEPENDENT SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. BECAUSE OF COVID-19 NO SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED IN 2020. THE $8000 GRANT WAS FORWARDED TO THE INDEPENDENT COMMITTEE WHO WILL AWARD THE MONEY IN 2021.
FLETCHER MURAL PROJECT AN ADDITIONAL $445 WAS DONATED TO THE ALREADY RECEIVED 2019 TOTAL OF $218,036 TO RESTORE TWO 1932 MURALS IN THE SCHOOL'S AUDITORIUM. THE RESTORATION WAS TO BEGIN IN THE SUMMER OF 2020 BUT THE PORTLAND PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT HELD UP THE PROJECT DUE TO CONTROVERSY OVER IT BEING DISCRIMINATORY. AT YEAR'S END IT WAS DECIDED THE MURALS SHOULD BE REMOVED, NOT RESTORED. ALL MONIES RAISED ARE ON HOLD.
