THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS HOME MEDICAL SUPPLY (NIHMS) IS TO SERVE THE CONSUMERS OF STERLING, ROCK FALLS, DIXON, AND OUTLYING AREAS WITH MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES IN THEIR HOMES. AMOUNTS CHARGED AND COLLECTED FOR SUCH SERVICES WILL BE BASED UPON THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY'S FINANCIAL STATUS IN COMPARISON WITH THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES. NIHMS WILL PROVIDE CHARITY CARE TO ANY NIHMS PATIENT QUALIFYING WITHIN THE OUTLINE REQUIREMENTS. CHARITY CARE WAS ESTIMATED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $4,000 FOR THE YEAR ENDED APRIL 30, 2017. NORTHERN ILLINOIS HOME MEDICAL SUPPLY LEASES AND/OR SELLS MEDICAL EQUIPMENT INCLUDING WALKERS, WHEELCHAIRS, OXYGEN, ETC. THE HOME MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST THOSE PATIENTS THAT HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITALS AND/OR THOSE WHO NEED CONTINUOUS CARE.
