Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FOR 2020 OF OUR PROGRAM EXPENSE WENT TO MUSEUM44 OUR YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM DIVISION. THE MUSEUM 44 USES POPULAR CULTURE, MEDIA AND POSITIVE ROLE MODELS TO HELP AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUTH DEVELOP THE CAPACITY TO REJECT VIOLENCE AND WORK TO IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITIES. IT IS OFTEN SAID THAT TODAY'S AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUTH DO NOT HAVE ROLE MODELS THAT EXEMPLIFY THE TRADITIONAL "AMERICAN" VALUES THAT UNDERGIRD THE TRAITS THAT HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS NATION'S GROWTH. WE KNOW THIS IS INACCURATE. AFRICAN AMERICAN ROLE MODELS THAT EMBODY TRADITIONAL VALUES DO EXIST AND HAVE FOR DECADES. ONE SUCH GROUP OF BLACK MEN WAS THE BROTHERHOOD OF SLEEPING CAR PORTERS. WE HAVE PROVIDED OVER 50 JOBS FOR YOUTH WITH OUR MUSEUM 44 PROGRAM. IN OUR TEEN TECH CENTER" WE HOUSE OUR PODCAST RADIO STATION PEOPLE FROM THE COMMUNITY TEENS ARE ABLE TO HOST PODCAST SHOWS AS THEY LEARN ASPECTS OF STEM.
