HUMAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (HDF) HAS BEEN WORKING FOR PROGRAMS RELATED TO POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE, COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT THROUGH MASS LITERACY, ENHANCED QUALITY OF EDUCATION, UNIVERSAL PRIMARY HEALTHCARE AND GRASSROOTS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. THE FOCUS IS TO HELP THE MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES WHO ARE STUCK IN THE VICIOUS GRIP OF POVERTY & DEPRIVATION BY ENABLING THEM TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. HDFS HEALTHCARE PROGRAM IS CENTERED ON PROVIDING PRIMARY HEALTHCARE VIA THE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER (CHCS). THE CHCS ARE VITAL IN UNDERTAKING THE ACTIVITIES RELATED TO GENERAL HEALTH AND CREATING AWARENESS FOR PERSONAL HYGIENE, COMMUNICABLE AND NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES.
HDFS EDUCATION AND LITERACY PROGRAM IS GEARED TOWARDS PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO CHILDREN IN MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES. A NETWORK OF FORMAL AND NON-FORMAL SCHOOLS HELPS THE CHILDREN TO LEARN. THE FORMAL SCHOOLS ARE EQUIPPED WITH MODERN FACILITIES SUCH AS COMPUTER LABS, SCIENCE LABS, SMART BOARDS, AND REMOTE LEARNING CAPABILITIES. THE SCHOOLS ARE INSTRUMENTAL IN TEACHING KIDS BETTER DECISION MAKING, CRITICAL THINKING ALONG WITH REGULAR EDUCATION AND INCLUDING CRITICAL AREAS OF GENDER EQUALITY AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION. VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ALSO OFFERED TO THE QUALIFYING STUDENTS.
HDFS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE ECO-SYSTEM AND PROVIDES BASIC FACILITIES SUCH AS CLEAN DRINKING WATER TO THE COMMUNITIES. ADDITIONALLY, SANITATION FACILITIES ARE BUILT AS WELL AS ACTIVITIES ARE UNDERTAKEN FOR WASTE MANAGEMENT AND DISPOSAL. COMMUNITY PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE (CPI) PROJECTS ARE UNDERTAKEN BY COMPLETING PROVISION OF WATER HAND PUMPS, TUBE WELLS, WATER CHANNELS LINING, SEWERAGE SYSTEM, FLOOD CONTROL STRUCTURES, WATER RETAINING RESERVOIRS AND CONSTRUCTION OF DELAY ACTION/CHECK DAMS. SIMILARLY WITH TREE PLANTATION DRIVES EFFORTS ARE MADE TO MINIMIZE THE ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDES PROGRAMS THAT INITIATE FAMILY SPONSORSHIP AND GENERAL RELIEF IN PAKISTAN ADMINISTERED THROUGH AN AFFILIATE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION IN PAKISTAN.
