CONTRIBUTION MADE TO THE GOOD SAMARITAN CENTER, A LOCAL 501(C)3 CHARITY THAT SERVES AS A FOOD PANTRY FOR THE NEEDY IN WAYNE COUNTY, GEORGIA. THIS CONTRIBUTION IS IN KEEPING WITH THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION OF FUNDING FOR LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN NEEDS.
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE EFFORTS OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL IN THE FULFILLMENT OF THE OBJECT OF ROTARY, ROTARY'S MISSION, AND THE ACHIEVEMENT OF WORLD UNDERSTANDING AND PEACE THROUGH LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN, EDUCATIONAL, AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS.
A SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED TO A LOCAL STUDENT TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION AT THE POST SECONDARY SCHOOL OF THEIR CHOICE. THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED EACH YEAR AND IS AVAILABLE TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES. A COMMITTEE OF LOCAL ROTARY MEMBERS REVIEWS THE APPLICATIONS TO DETERMINE THE BEST QUALIFIED CANDIDATE TO RECEIVE THE AWARD. THE WINNER IS CHOSEN FOR SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT AND NON SCHOOL ACTIVITY THAT REPRESENTS THE ROTARY MOTTO OF SERVICE ABOVE SELF.
