AVALANCHE SAFETY AND AWARENESS EDUCATION PROGRAM: THE FRIENDS OF THE GNFAC PROVIDES FREE, QUALITY AVALANCHE SAFETY EDUCATION AND INFORMATION FOR ALL BACKCOUNTRY USERS IN SOUTHWEST MONTANA. IN THE 2020-2021 SEASON, OVER 40 INSTRUCTORS COORDINATED AND STAFFED 67 DAYS OF CLASSES BOTH ONLINE AND IN PERSON. THESE CLASSES(TALKS, SEMINARS, AND FIELD SESSIONS) REACHED 3,300 PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING: GRADES 1-12, COLLEGIATE, SEARCH AND RESCUE GROUPS, SKI PATROL, AND SKI AND SNOWMOBILE CLUBS.
