FOUNDATION FUNDS, PER DONOR INTENT, SUPPORT A VARIETY OF CARE AND COMFORT AND EDUCATION INTIATIVES IN BREAST HEALTH, DIABETES, HEALTH ISSUES PUBLIC EDUCATION, NEWBORN/INFANT/PEDIATRICS, ONCOLOGY, RADIOLOGY, REHABILITATION SERVICES AND OTHER AREAS.
THE FOUNDATION BECAME THE LEAD AGENCY FOR THE SAFE KIDS MISSOULA COALITION IN JUNE 2014 AND THE SAFE KIDS MONTANA STATE OFFICE IN 2019. THE COALITION WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1991 AND IS ONE OF MORE THAN 400 IN THE INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF SAFE KIDS WORLDWIDE. IT INCLUDES MORE THAN 30 SAFETY EXPERTS AND VOLUNTEERS DEDICATED TO PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM PREVENTABLE INJURY - THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF DEATH TO CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES - BY DELIVERING HANDS-ON EDUCATION AND TAKE-ACTION INFORMATION.
THE FOUNDATION HAS PROVIDED HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIPS TO MISSOULA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS SINCE 1990, AND TO RAVALLI COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS SINCE 2019. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING 2022, 14 $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS, 4 PREMIER $2,500 HIGH SCHOOL HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO STUDENTS REPRESENTING MISSOULA AND RAVALLI COUNTY HIGH SCHOOLS WHO HAVE GONE ON TO ATTEND 11 DIFFERENT COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE PROGRAM'S HISTORY NOW INCLUDES THE AWARDING OF 664 HIGH SCHOOL AND CMC EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIPS TOATLING $527,500 AND SUPPORTED BY MORE THAN 130 CURRENT GIFT AND ENDOWMENT DONORS.
