THE NATIONAL LUTHERAN CHOIR RETURNED TO IN-PERSON CONCERTIZING AS THE COVID PANDEMIC EASED IN SEVERITY OVERALL, ALTHOUGH THE OMICRON VARIANT IN THE SPRING OF 2022 CAUSED THE CANCELLATION OF THE ANNUAL "CHORAL TUNE UP" WITH CHURCH SINGERS; AND THE CANCELLATION OF A PLANNED TOUR TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. NONETHELESS, THOSE WHO RETURNED TO IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING WERE GRATEFUL AND ENTHUSIASTIC. THE DELAYED WORLD PREMIERE OF "LAMENT OF THE EARTH" TOOK PLACE IN THE SPRING OF 2022, AND THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINED A LIVELY DIGITAL PRESENCE AND SAW GROWING INTEREST IN THIS AREA OF ITS PROGRAMMING. IN PERSON AUDIENCES NUMBERED 2,690, WHILE DIGITAL VIEWS OF PROGRAMS AND CONTENT WERE IN TENS OF THOUSANDS.
