THE INTERNATIONAL FOCUSING INSTITUTE INC IS AN INTERNATIONAL, CROSS CULTURAL ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS WORLDWIDE WHO ARE TEACHING AND DEVELOPING FOCUSING AND ITS UNDERLYING PHILOSOPHY.

MEMBERSHIP/ CERTIFICATION SERVICES THE MAJORITY OF OUR WORK HAS TO DO WITH ASSISTING OUR MEMBERS AND TEACHERS, INCLUDING DEALING WITH ALL ASPECTS OF CERTIFICATION AND CONNECTING MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WITH ONE ANOTHER. IN 2021, OUR MEMBERSHIP INCREASED BY 20 TO 2,066 MEMBERS. MEMBERS NOW COME FROM 69 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD. WE HAVE 216 COORDINATORS FROM 36 COUNTRIES, WHO TEACH AND OFFER CERTIFICATION THROUGH THE INSTITUTE. AT THE END OF 2021, WE ANNOUNCED OUR EQUITY IN MEMBERSHIP, WHICH CREATED ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES, WITH LOWER RATES FOR COUNTRIES WITH THE MOST STRUGGLING ECONOMIES. THERE WERE MONTHLY CAFECITOS OR MESAS REDONDAS, WHICH ARE FREE SPANISH LANGUAGE ONLINE GATHERINGS FOR MEMBERS. WE ALSO OFFERED 32 ROUNDTABLES, WHICH ARE CONVERSATIONS ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS, FREE FOR MEMBERS. MOST OF THOSE WERE IN ENGLISH, WITH 1 IN GERMAN AND 4 IN ITALIAN. WE HAD 247 VOLUNTEERS FROM AMONG OUR MEMBERSHIP.
CLASSES, CONFERENCES, PRODUCTS WE GAVE OVER 20,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE TO ATTENDEES OF OUR CONFERENCES. CLASSES AND CONFERENCES INCLUDED THE ANNUAL WEEKLONG, ONLINE SUMMIT, AND 2 FOCUS-A-THONS WHERE 40 TEACHERS GAVE INTRODUCTIONS TO FOCUSING IN 18 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. OUR FELT SENSE CONFERENCE EXPLORED ISSUES OF RACE, GENDER AND CLIMATE CHANGE. WE OFFERED 11 FOCUSING HIGHLIGHTS ALONG WITH 7 OTHER ONLINE COURSES, INCLUDING ONES IN SPANISH, CHINESE AND GERMAN.
GENDLIN CENTER AND PAUSE FOR PEACE IN 2021, THE GENDLIN CENTER OFFERED SAYING WHAT WE MEAN A SYMPOSIUM ON THE WORKS OF EUGENE GENDLIN, A COLLABORATION BETWEEN SEATTLE UNIVERSITYS PSYCHOLOGY AND PHILOSOPHY DEPARTMENTS AND TIFIS GENDLIN REASEARCH CENTER. WE HAVE A TEAM EDITING TRANSCRIPTS OF DIALOGUES WHICH GENDLIN HAD WITH DAVE YOUNG IN THE LAST YEARS OF HIS LIFE. THE GENDLIN CENTER COMMITTEE IS ACTIVELY DEVELOPING A SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF THE EXPERIENCING SCALE EXP SCALE TO FACILITATE MORE RESEARCH IN FOCUSING. SIEBRECHT VANHOOREN, THE FIRST RECIPIENT OF THE GENDLIN GRANT, REPORTED ON THE INTIAL RESULTS FROM RESEARCH THE GRANT HELPED TO FUND. THE ABSTRACT AND A SHORT VIDEO SUMMARIZING THE FINDINGS CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.GENDLINCENTER.ORG. THE PAUSE FOR PEACE INITIATIVE CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF FOCUSING EL SALVADOR, MOSTLY BY ACTING AS A FISCAL SPONSOR.
