NAFA MEMBERS INCLUDE AIR FILTER AND COMPONENT MANUFACTURERS, SALES AND SERVICE COMPANIES, AND HVAC AND INDOOR AIR QUALITY PROFESSIONALS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND IN SEVERAL FOREIGN COUNTRIES. NAFA IS COMPRISED OF INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES ENGAGED IN THE SALE, SERVICE AND MANUFACTURE OF THE AIR FILTRATION PRODUCTS.

THE CERTIFIED AIR FILTER SPECIALIST (CAFS) PROGRAM DISTINGUISHES THOSE PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED A THOROUGH, UP-TO-DATE UNDERSTANDING OF AIR FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY AND HIGH LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM. IN ORDER TO BECOME CERTIFIED, AIR FILTRATION PROFESSIONALS MUST PASS AN EXTENSIVE EXAMINATION ON THE PRINCIPLES, METHODS AND APPLICATIONS OF AIR FILTRATION. CANDIDATES FOR CERTIFICATION ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE NAFA CODE OF ETHICS. CERTIFICATION IS RENEWABLE ON AN ANNUAL BASIS PENDING SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF CONTINUED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE CURRENT AND CONTINUED EXPERTISE. THE EXAM IS A 100 QUESTION EXAM BASED ON THE NAFA GUIDE TO AIR FILTRATION. THE NAFA CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN (NCT) PROGRAM ADDS MORE CREDIBILITY AND PROFESSIONALISM TO THE AIR FILTRATION INDUSTRY. THIS CERTIFICATION IS FOR FILTER SERVICE TECHNICIANS AND FACILITY MAINTENANCE PROFESSIONALS WHO WORK WITH AIR FILTRATION PRODUCTS. APPLICANTS TAKE A 100 QUESTION, OPEN-BOOK EXAM BASED ON THE NAFA INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF AIR FILTRATION SYSTEMS MANUAL. THE NAFA CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN LEVEL II (NCT II) CERTIFICATION IS FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY BE REQUIRED TO CHANGE FILTERS EXPOSED TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. TRAINING FOR THIS CERTIFICATION FOCUSES ON BAG-IN/BAG-OUT HEPA FILTERED BIOHAZARD FILTRATION SYSTEMS. IT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE HANDS-ONE EXPERIENCE. THE EXAM HAS 64 QUESTIONS AND IS BASED ON THE NAFA INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF AIR FILTRATION SYSTEMS MANUAL CHAPTER ON BAG-IN/BAG-OUT ADDENDUM.
