A MEMBER FLYING CLUB WHERE MEMBERS SHARE OWNERSHIP OF CESSNA SKYHAWK (MODEL 172) AIRCRAFT, HANGAR FACILITIES, RAMP, FUEL FARM AND CLUBHOUSE. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES RELATED TO PERSONAL FLYING AS WELL AS INSTRUCTION AND TRAINING AS REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) MAKE UP A SIGNIFICANT PART OF THE CLUB'S ACTIVITIES.

AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS - THE REGULAR CLUB MEMBERS JOINTLY OWN 3 CESSNA SKYHAWK (MODEL 172) AIRCRAFT. THE AFFILIATE MEMBERS GENERALLY HAVE THEIR OWN AIRCRAFT. THE CLUB ALSO OWNS A COMBINATION AIRCRAFT HANGAR/CLUBHOUSE FOR USE BY ALL MEMBERS. THE CLUB IS LOCATED AT WAUKEGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT (KUGN), WITH A LAND LEASE FROM THE WAUKEGAN PORT DISTRICT. REGULAR MEMBERS ARE ENTITLED TO USE THE CLUB AIRCRAFT FOR AN ESTABLISHED RENTAL RATE TO COVER FUEL, INSURANCE, MAINTENANCE AND OTHER OPERATING COSTS. IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE CLUB'S OPERATING RULES, THE REGULAR MEMBERS MAY RENT THE AIRCRAFT FOR LOCAL AND EXTENDED TRIP FLYING. SOCIALIZATION OCCURS BETWEEN THE MEMBERS WHO FLY TOGETHER TO SHARE COSTS AND INCLUDES SUCH ACTIVITIES AS VISITING FAMILY AND FRIENDS, SPORTING EVENTS, TOURIST ACTIVITIES AND DINING EXPERIENCES. THE CLUB EMPLOYS A GENERAL MANAGER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF THE CLUB AND WHO ENSURES THE AIRCRAFT ARE IN AN AIRWORTHY CONDITION. AT PEAK FLYING TIMES, THE CLUB EMPLOYS LINE STAFF TO ASSIST WITH FUELING AIRCRAFT, MOVING AIRCRAFT TO AND FROM THE HANGAR AND OTHER DUTIES AS NECESSARY.
FLIGHT INSTRUCTION - THE CLUB EMPLOYS FAA CERTIFICATED FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS AVAILABLE TO THOSE DESIRING TO BECOME PRIVATE PILOTS AS WELL AS THOSE PILOTS PURSUING ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS, RATINGS AND ENDORSEMENTS.THE CLUB PILOTS MUST ADHERE TO THE REGULATIONS OF THE FAA AND AS SUCH, HAVE A FLIGHT REVIEW CONDUCTED BIENNIALLY. IN ADDITION, ALL CLUB MEMBERS MUST HAVE A SATISFACTORY ANNUAL CHECK-RIDE WITH AN INSTRUCTOR IN ORDER TO RENT THE CLUB'S AIRCRAFT. CLUB FLYING IS ALSO CONDUCTED WITH ADHERENCE TO THE CLUB'S OPERATING RULES.
CLUBHOUSE OPERATIONS - THE CLUBHOUSE IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL MEMBERS TO GATHER FOR SOCIALIZATION, FLIGHT PLANNING, FLIGHT DEBRIEFING, ETC. IN ADDITION TO BEING ATTACHED TO THE HANGAR, THE CLUBHOUSE CONTAINS AN OFFICE, MEETING SPACE, A LOUNGE, COOKING FACILITIES AND RESTROOMS. REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE MEMBERSHIP TAKE PLACE SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE YEAR. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETS ONCE PER MONTH. THESE MEETINGS ARE USED TO CONDUCT THE BUSINESS OF THE CLUB AS WELL AS SOCIALIZATION AFTER THE MEETINGS. COOK-OUTS AND POT LUCK MEALS ARE REGULAR EVENTS OF THE CLUB. THE CLUB HAS AN ANNUAL PICNIC IN THE SUMMER AS WELL AS HOLIDAY PARTIES. THE CLUB ALSO HOSTS AN ANNUAL SAFETY DAY OPEN TO ALL PILOTS WITH GUEST LECTURERS FROM VARIOUS PROFESSIONS SERVING THE GENERAL AVIATION POPULATION.
