PROVIDES TECHNICAL SERVICES, INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS/PROGRAMS TO MEMBERS, STATE, FEDERAL AND LOCAL PUBLIC WORKS AGENCIES AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. ACPA CONDUCTS AND/OR PARTICIPATES IN ROAD AND AIRFIELD RESEARCH TO DEVELOP STATE-OF-THE-ART, SAFE AND DURABLE CONCRETE PAVEMENTS THAT REQUIRE MINIMAL MAINTENANCE AND REDUCE CONGESTION RESULTING FROM THE MORE FREQUENT REPAIR NEEDS OF PETROLEUM-BASED PAVING MATERIALS. THE ACPA HAS BEEN A LEADER IN CREATING AWARENESS OF THE NEED TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF INJURIES AND FATALITIES THAT OCCUR ON U.S. ROADS BECAUSE OF DEFICIENCIES. ACPA ALSO HAS BEEN A LEADER IN PURSUING PAVEMENT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION THAT IS MORE SUSTAINABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.
