WE PROVIDE PRACTICAL HELP FOR OLDER ADULTS WHO ARE ADJUSTING TO VISION LOSS, AND WE ARE A POINT OF CONNECTION FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ISOLATED AS A RESULT OF VISION LOSS.

PEOPLE EXPERIENCING VISION LOSS TURN TO HADLEY FOR PRACTICAL, PERSONALIZED LEARNING. CURRENTLY, THERE ARE NEARLY FIVE HUNDRED ONLINE WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSION GROUPS, AND PODCASTS THAT LEARNERS CAN ACCESS ON HADLEY.EDU. WORKSHOPS ARE 5- TO 10- MINUTE INTERACTIVE VIDEO SEGMENTS SO PEOPLE CAN LEARN WHENEVER AND WHEREVER IT'S MOST CONVENIENT FOR THEM. EXAMPLES OF WORKSHOP TOPICS INCLUDE HOW TO SAFELY PREPARE FOOD, LABEL MEDICATION BOTTLES, OR USE THE LOW VISION FEATURES ON A SMARTPHONE TO READ EMAIL. HADLEY IS THE WORLD'S LARGEST EDUCATOR OF BRAILLE AND PROVIDER OF DISTANCE EDUCATION FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED. WITH THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE, PRIMARILY OLDER ADULTS, WHO ARE BLIND OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED EXPECTED TO MORE THAN DOUBLE IN THE COMING DECADES TO NEARLY 9 MILLION BY 2050 (NATIONAL EYE INSTITUTE), HADLEY IS MORE RELEVANT THAN EVER.
