PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE PRENATAL CARE AND FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES TO TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS.RUSH ADOLESCENT FAMILY CENTER IS ONE OF THE OLDEST, MOST RESPECTED PRENATAL AND FAMILY PLANNING CLINICS FOR TEENS. THE PRENATAL CARE PROGRAM PROVIDES A FULL RANGE OF CARE, WITH PRENATAL COUNSELING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS. THE FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAM PROVIDES CONFIDENTIAL GYNECOLOGICAL CARE, CONTRACEPTIVE AND COUNSELING SERVICES. THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES PREGNANCY PREVENTION, FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION TO TEENS AND PRETEENS ATTENDING CHICAGO AREA SCHOOLS AND AGENCIES.HOLY FAMILY NEW BEGINNINGS PROGRAM IS A PRENATAL CARE PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE ENVIRONMENT FOR BABIES TO BE BORN HEALTHY. A BILINGUAL STAFF PROVIDES COUNSELING AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AS WELL AS EXAMS, LAB TESTING, NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING, CHILDBIRTH CLASSES, INFANT CARE, PARENTING, SIBLINGS AND ASSISTANCE IN FILING FOR BENEFITS.
PROGRAMS TO GUIDE CHILDREN IN GROUP HOUSING SITUATION TO MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES.THE MERCY WORKS PROGRAM AT MERCY HOME FOR BOYS AND GIRLS OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR VOLUNTEERS TO GAIN PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN A YEAR LONG PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES WEEKLY COMMUNITY NIGHTS AND PERIODIC RETREATS FOR THE CHILDREN AT MERCY HOME. IT BUILDS COMMUNITY AND AN ADDITIONAL SOURCE OF MOTIVATION AND SPIRITUAL GROUNDING.THE SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGES PROVIDES A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL FOSTER CARE. CHILDREN MAY STAY WITH THEIR BIOLOGICAL SIBLINGS IN PRIVATE HOMES. A FULL-TIME TRAINED FOSTER PARENT LIVES WITH THEM AND THE WHOLE VILLAGE GIVES THEM SUPPORT, COMPASSION AND STRENGTH.
GRADUATE STUDENT TUITION GRANTS AT JANE ADDAMS SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK, UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGOGRADUATE STUDENTS AT JANE ADAMS SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK ARE GIVEN TUITION GRANTS WHEN THEIR INTERNSHIPS RELATE TO THE PURPOSES OF CHICAGO FOUNDLINGS HOME. CURRENTLY THREE STUDENTS ARE RECEIVING GRANTS: TWO ARE AT THE ADOLESCENT FAMILY PROGRAM AT RUSH AND ONE IS IN A PROGRAM IN THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM.
THE HOME PROVIDES REQUIRED INFORMATION ON ANY ADOPTION PROCESSED BY THE HOME TO RESPECTIVE ADOPTEES, MOTHERS WHO GAVE UP THEIR CHILDREN FOR ADOPTION AND, IF FOR MEDICAL REASONS, TO PARENTS OF THE ADOPTEES.
