PALS PROGRAMS CREATES INCLUSIVE CAMP EXPERIENCES FOR PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME. THEIR VOLUNTEER-LED PROGRAMS CHANGE ATTITUDES, TRANSFORM LIVES, AND INSPIRE A WORLD OF BELONGING.

PALS IS PROUD TO HAVE PROVIDED IMMERSIVE SLEEP-AWAY CAMP EXPERIENCES FOR 300 YOUNG ADULTS WITH DOWN SYNDROME DURING THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR. IN ADDITION, PALS PROVIDED WEEKEND ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR OVER 100 CAMPERS DURING THE OFF-SEASON. AT EVERY EVENT, EACH CAMPER WAS PAIRED ONE-ON-ONE WITH A VOLUNTEER, PEER-AGED COUNSELOR. TOGETHER THEY ENJOYED OFFSITE TRIPS, ON-SITE SKILL-BUILDING AND OTHER CAMP-LIKE OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD SOCIAL AND INDEPENDENT SKILLS. WE WERE ALSO PROUD TO BE ABLE TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY WITH THE NEW CONGRATULATIONS PROJECT LETTERS WRITTEN BY OUR CAMPERS TO NEW PARENTS OF BABIES WITH DOWN SYNDROME.
