THE WOMEN'S FOUNDATION OF NEW JERSEY IS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION THAT FOSTERS PHILANTHROPIC RESPONSES TO THE NEEDS OF OUR NEW JERSEY COMMUNITY. WE DO THIS THROUGH RESEARCH, PROGRAMS, ADVOCACY AND GRANTMAKING.

WOMEN UNITED IN PHILANTHROPY: IN 2021 THE FOUNDATION BECAME THE FISCAL AGENT FOR THIS WOMEN'S GIVING CIRCLE. BETWEEN 2021 & 2022 WE ACCEPTED A TOTAL OF $250,000 OF TRANSFERRED CASH ASSETS FROM THE PREVIOUS AGENT, BERGEN COUNTY'S UNITED WAY. DURING 2023 WE AWARDED GRANTS TO THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES THAT SUPPORT WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN CRISIS: THE FOOD BRIGADE, CENTER FOR HOPE AND SAFETY, GERIATRIC SERVICES INC., AND THE WOMEN'S RIGHTS INFORMATION CENTER.
ACTION AGAINST HUNGER: THIS PROGRAM DELIVERED APPROXIMATELY 31,800 POUNDS OF FOOD TO LOCAL FOOD BANKS AND PANTRIES IN 2019, BUT THE FOOD DRIVE WAS SUSPENDED IN 2020-2023 DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. HOWEVER, THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO RAISE FUNDS VIA ITS WEBSITE TO HELP FEED ITS NORTH JERSEY NEIGHBORS. THE FOUNDATION RAISED $3,624 FOR THIS EFFORT IN 2023.
