BROOKE'S PLACE PROVIDES SUPPORT GROUPS, THERAPY SERVICES AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION TO EMPOWER CHILDREN, TEENS, YOUNG ADULTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO THRIVE IN THE MIDST OF GRIEF.

1.BROOKE'S PLACE IS THE ONLY ONGOING GRIEF SUPPORT PROGRAM IN CENTRAL INDIANA FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 3 AND YOUNG ADULT WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF SOMEONE SIGNIFICANT. DURING 2021, BROOKE'S PLACE SERVED A TOTAL OF 819 INDIVIDUALS IN SUPPORT GROUP PROGRAMMING, ALTHOUGH IN A MODIFIED FORMAT DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC. A TOTAL OF 192 FAMILIES ENROLLED IN OUR ONGOING GRIEF SUPPORT PROGRAM, THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF ENROLLMENTS IN BROOKE'S PLACE HISTORY.
2.BP-8 OUTREACH PROGRAM: AN 8-WEEK OUTREACH GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS BROOKE'S PLACE TO PARTNER WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS, AND AFTER-SCHOOL CENTERS TO REACH UNDERSERVED YOUTH NEEDING GRIEF SERVICES. IN 2021, 99 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED AT COMMUNITY PARTNER SITES.
3.THERAPY SERVICES: BROOKE'S PLACE PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SERVICES TO CHILDREN AGES 3 AND OVER THROUGH YOUNG ADULT, USING LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS. THE THERAPY FOR CHILDREN IS BASED ON PLAY THERAPY, AND EMPOWERS PARTICIPANTS TO FEEL SUPPORTED AND UNDERSTOOD. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE 318 INDIVIDUALS WHO RECEIVED 1,908 COMPLETED COUNSELING SESSIONS AND PROFESSIONAL GRIEF SUPPORT.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER EXEMPT PURPOSE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: CAMP HEALING TREE: AN ANNUAL WEEKEND CAMP FOR CHILDREN AGES 7-17 WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE. THE WEEKEND CAMP INCLUDES GRIEF THERAPY ACTIVITIES IN SMALL GROUPS, LARGE GROUP PRESENTATIONS, AND A CLOSING MEMORIAL SERVICE/CEREMONY. WHILE BROOKE'S PLACE WAS UNABLE TO HOST THIS CAMP IN 2021 DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC, 106 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN A COVID SAFE FAMILY DAY EVENTS ON AUGUST 21-22 AT JAMESON CAMP IN INDIANAPOLIS.
