ABOUT SPECIAL KIDS DBA INDIANA FAMILY TO FAMILY (HEREAFTER REFERRED TO AS INF2F), IS A UNIQUE, STATEWIDE, FAMILY-LED ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES INFORMATION, EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PEER SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH ADDITIONAL, OR SPECIAL, HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (CYSHCN) AND THE PROFESSIONALS WHO SERVE THEM. INF2F WORKS WITH FAMILY LEADERS AND PROFESSIONAL PARTNERS AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVELS TO ENSURE THEY ARE AWARE OF AND UNDERSTAND THE FAMILY PERSPECTIVE AS IT RELATES TO IMPROVING HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND POLICIES AND ENSURING THAT HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS INCLUDE, LISTEN TO, AND HONOR THE VOICES OF FAMILIES. THE CORE PROGRAMS OF INDIANA FAMILY TO FAMILY INCLUDE:INDIANA FAMILY TO FAMILY IS THE FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED AND FUNDED STATEWIDE HEALTH INFORMATION CENTER AND STATE-AFFILIATED PARENT TO PARENT USA ORGANIZATION, OFFERING FAMILY-TO-FAMILY SUPPORT AND ON-DEMAND INFORMATION TO FAMILIES OF CYSHCN. INF2FS FAMILY SUPPORT IS DELIVERED BY A TEAM OF RESOURCE SPECIALISTS, ALL PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH ADDITIONAL HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS, WHO PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO OTHER FAMILIES, SHARING INFORMATION AND RESOURCES ABOUT THE SYSTEM OF SERVICES AVAILABLE TO THEIR CHILD SO THEY LEARN TO NAVIGATE IT AND ULTIMATELY ADVOCATE FOR THEIR CHILD ON THEIR OWN. THE INF2F HEALTH INFORMATION CENTER (HIC), IS AN ELECTRONIC OUTREACH NETWORK COMMITTED TO REACHING FAMILIES WHERE THEY ARE, PROVIDING INFORMATION AND ENGAGEMENT USING MULTIPLE PLATFORMS.
