THE WEST LAFAYETTE LITTLE LEAGUE SERVES OVER 300 BOYS AND GIRLS RANGING IN AGE FROM 5 TO 12 YEARS OF AGE. THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES THREE BASEBALL PROGRAMS, THREE SOFTBALL PROGRAMS, AND ONE TEE BALL PROGRAM. THE CHILDREN ARE PLACED IN THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS BASED ON AGE. THE LEAGUE HAS 27-30 TEAMS AND WILL PLAY APPROXIMATELY 160 BASEBALL GAMES, 70 SOFTBALL GAMES AND CONDUCT A THREE WEEK INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM FOR FIVE AND SIX YEAR OLDS. THE LEAGUE ALSO HOSTS THE LITTLE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT AND HAVE FIVE TEAMS THAT PARTICIPATE IN STATE AND POSSIBLE NATIONAL EVENTS. THE LEAGUE HAS THREE FIELDS AND IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR MAINTENANCE. THESE FIELDS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC WHEN NOT IN USE BY THE LEAGUE. THE ENTIRE LEAGUE'S STAFF, INCLUDING BOARD MEMBERS, UMPIRES, COACHES AND INDIVIDUALS WHO MAINTAIN THE FIELDS ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS.
