MY CAUSE MY CLEATS: THIS IS AN INITIATIVE LEAD BY THE NFL WHERE PLAYERS AND COACHES GET THEIR CLEATS CUSTOMIZED TO HIGHLIGHT NONPROFIT CAUSES THEY WANT TO SUPPORT. OUR FOUNDATION STARTED MAKING $5,000 DONATIONS/GRANTS TO THE ORGANIZATIONS THEY IDENTIFIED. SOME PLAYERS SELECTED TWO, SO EACH ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED $2,500.


GET 2 SCHOOL (NOW STAY IN THE GAME) IS OUR STATEWIDE INITIATIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND PROVING GROUND OUT OF HARVARD. WE PARTNER WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO CREATE AND IMPLEMENT ATTENDANCE CAMPAIGNS AND TEST INTERVENTIONS TO HELP INCREASE STUDENT ATTENDANCE AND DECREASE BARRIERS TO CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM.


DIGITAL DIVIDE: TO HELP ADDRESS THE IMPACT OF THE PANDEMIC AS IT RELATED TO EDUCATION AND STUDENTS HAVING WHAT THEY NEEDED TO CONTINUE LEARNING. PLAYERS, COACHES AND STAFF MADE DONATIONS TO THE FOUNDATION, AND THE DONATIONS WERE MATCHED BY THE NFL FOUNDATION.


GINN ACADEMY - LIFE COACHES - THE CLEVELAND BROWNS FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE WORK OF THE LIFE COACHES. GINN'S LIFE COACH PROGRAM PROVIDES EACH STUDENT WITH A 24/7 MENTOR FOR THE AREAS OF ACADEMICS, BEHAVIOR, ATTENDANCE, AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO SERVE AS A LINK BETWEEN HOME AND SCHOOL. GINN ACADEMY STRIVES TO ASSIGN 20 STUDENTS TO EACH LIFE COACH WHO THEY WORK WITH FROM 9TH GRADE UNTIL THEY GRADUATE. THE CENTERS FOR FAMILIES & CHILDREN - PRESENT FOR BRAIN BUILDING - RESEARCH SHOWS THAT BEING PRESENT IN PRESCHOOL CAN DIRECTLY IMPACT STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND ULTIMATELY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION. THE CENTERS FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN DESIGNED THE PRESENT FOR BRAIN BUILDING PROGRAM TO EDUCATE PARENTS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THEIR CHILD'S PRESCHOOL ATTENDANCE AND INCREASE ATTENDANCE RATES AMONG PRESCHOOL STUDENTS.BROWNS BACKERS WORLDWIDE - THREE BROWNS BACKER CLUBS ARE CHOSEN EACH YEAR TO RECEIVE A $2,000 GRANT TO DIRECTLY FUND A CHARITY THE CLUB ACTIVELY SUPPORTS WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY. GREATER CLEVELAND MUNY FOOTBALL LEAGUE- EQUIPMENT REFURBISHMENT -GRANT IS TO RECONDITION HELMETS AS ONE OF THE HEAD'S UP FOOTBALL'S MAIN PLATFORMS TO PROVIDE SAFE AND PROPER FITTING EQUIPMENT TO ASSURE SAFE PLAY.STUDENTS WITH ATTENDANCE GAINS (SWAG) MENTORING PROGRAM - MAPLE HEIGHTS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT - MAPLE HEIGHTS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT JOINED THE GET 2 SCHOOL NETWORK AS AN ACTION DISTRICT, AND WORKING WITH PROVING GROUND AND THE CLEVELAND BROWNS FOUNDATION TO IMPLEMENT A LOCAL ATTENDANCE CAMPAIGN, AND THROUGH A ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS PROCESS, DEVELOP ATTENDANCE PROGRAMS THAT KEEP STUDENTS IN SCHOOL. SUCCESS 2.0 MENTORING PROGRAM - CANTON CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT - CANTON CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT JOINED THE GET 2 SCHOOL NETWORK AS AN ACTION DISTRICT, AND WORKING WITH PROVING GROUND AND THE CLEVELAND BROWNS FOUNDATION TO IMPLEMENT A LOCAL ATTENDANCE CAMPAIGN, AND THROUGH A ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS PROCESS, DEVELOP ATTENDANCE PROGRAMS THAT KEEP STUDENTS IN SCHOOL. MARION MOTLEY SCHOLARSHIP - COLLEGE NOW GREATER CLEVELAND - AWARDS TWO NEW STUDENTS IN NORTHEAST OHIO WITH A $2,500 FOUR-YEAR RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIP ($10,000 TOTAL). THE SCHOLARSHIP PRIORITIZES FIRST-GENERATION STUDENTS FROM LOW-INCOME BACKGROUNDS, AND NAMED AFTER FORMER BROWNS' HALL OF FAMER AND FULLBACK, MARION MOTLEY. DIGITAL ATTENDANCE MESSAGING - EAST CLEVELAND SCHOOL DISTRICT - EAST CLEVELAND CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT JOINED THE GET 2 SCHOOL NETWORK AS AN ACTION DISTRICT, AND IS WORKING WITH PROVING GROUND AND THE CLEVELAND BROWNS FOUNDATION TO IMPLEMENT A LOCAL ATTENDANCE CAMPAIGN, AND THROUGH A ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS PROCESS, DEVELOP ATTENDANCE PROGRAMS THAT KEEP STUDENTS IN SCHOOL.SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR KIDS - SPECIAL TEAMS PACKAGE - A "SPECIAL TEAMS PACKAGE" PROVIDES QUICK DELIVERY OF A CUSTOMIZED PACKAGE CONTAINING SCHOOL UNIFORMS, CASUAL CLOTHES, A SHOE GIFT CARD, AND OTHER NECESSARY ITEMS TO STUDENTS REFERRED BY CLEVELAND METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT. THIS INITIATIVE IS PART OF THE LARGER EFFORT TO ELIMINATE BARRIERS TO ATTENDANCE AND FOSTER POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS FOR ALL STUDENTS.
