THE MISSION OF DRESS FOR SUCCESS CLEVELAND IS TO EMPOWER WOMEN AND TO ACHIEVE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE BY PROVIDING A NETWORK OF SUPPORT, PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE, AND DEVELOPMENT TOOLS TO HELP WOMEN THRIVE IN WORK AND IN LIFE.

IN 2021, DFSC HAD A YEAR OF REFRESH AND RESET OF MANY OF THE STAPLES OF THE ORGANIZATION. PROGRAM DELIVERY METHODS CHANGED, INTAKE AUTOMATED, STAFF STABILIZED AND WAS ELEVATED; SECURETY NEW TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT TOOLS AND DFSC WAS GRANTED A PRO-BONO CONSULTANT TO LEAD LEADERSHIP AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS THORUGH A STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS THAT RESULTED IN NEW UPDATED BOARD BY-LAWS THAT CREATED A COMMON NOT FOR PROFIT MINDSET OF SCARCITY TO ONE OF POWER AND COURAGE.DFSC CONTNUED TO MEET THE CHANGING NEEDS AND HEALTH CONDITIONS OF THE COMMUNITY; ALL WORKSHOPS CONTINUED TO BE OFFERED VIRTUALLY AND EXPANDED ITS AUDIENCE TO INCLUDE WOMEN ENTERING, THRIVING AND ADVANCING IN THE WORKPLACE; ALLOWED WOMEN TO SELF-ENROLL AND MORE EMPLOYERS UTILIZED OUR SERVICES . OUR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM CONTINUED TO STAND UPON 5 PILLARS OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: CAREER ADVANCEMENT, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, LEADERSHIP AND CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES, FINANCIAL PLANNING AND WORK-LIFE BALANCE AND WE SERVICED 407 UNIQUE WOMEN, HAD 13 MENTORS AND MENTEES TO PAIR FOR A 1 YEAR RELATIONSHIP AND CONDUCTED 308 STYLING APPOINTMENTS, AND SERVED 160 WOMEN VIA OUR CAREER CENTER 1:1 VIRTUAL CONSULTATION SERVICES.IN 2021, 56% (226) WERE MOTHERS; 57% (232) WERE SINGLE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD WITH AN AVERAGE OF 2 CHILDREN; 76% RECEIVED SOME TYPE OF GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE; 17% HAD THEIR BA OR MASTER DEGREES, 44% HAD SOME COLLEGE, 17% HAD HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS OR GED AND 12% HAD NOT GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL.ADDITIONALLY IN 2021, DFSC WAS SUCCESSFUL IN GETTING OUR DONOR PUBLIC TO REALIZE OUR NEEDS EXTENDED BEYOND THE SUIT, 26% OF OUR ANNUAL FUND CAME FROM CLOTHING DONORS TUCKING $10 WITH THEIR DONATION WHICH ALLOWED US TO PURCHASE SPECIFIC CLOTHING NEEDS, BUS PASSES AND GAS CARDS THAT ALLOWED WOMEN TO GET TO INTERVIEWS AND/OR MAINTAIN NEWLY OBTAINED POSITIONS.
