RESIDENTIAL - SEE DESCRIPTION ON SCHEDULE ORESIDENTIAL: THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE A RANGE OF RESIDENTIAL AND CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, DESIGNED TO OPTIMIZE INDEPENDENCE AND DIGNITY. THESE PROGRAMS ARE ALTERNATIVES TO MORE COSTLY AND MORE RESTRICTIVE INSTITUTIONAL SETTINGS. PERSON-CENTERED, COMMUNITY-BASED RESIDENTIAL AND DAY PROGRAM OPTIONS ARE OFFERED FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND CHRONIC MENTAL ILLNESS. RESIDENTIAL OPTIONS INCLUDE COMMUNITY LIVING ARRANGEMENTS (2 TO 3 PERSON HOMES), IN-HOME SUPPORTS, SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING AND LIFE SHARING. JEVS MAINTAINED PROGRAM OPERATIONS FOR ALL BUT A HANDFUL OF SERVICES AND USED TELEPHONE AND VIDEO CONFERENCING TO CONTINUE THE WORK OF THE AGENCY.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMS - SEE DESCRIPTION ON SCHEDULE OEDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMS: THESE PROGRAMS OFFER CAREER SKILLS TRAINING AND CAREER EXPLORATION. SKILLS TRAINING IS OFFERED IN A VARIETY OF HIGH-DEMAND INDUSTRIES TO ADULTS WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED, UNEMPLOYED, AND UNDEREMPLOYED OR HAVE A VARIETY OF OTHER BARRIERS TO OCCUPATIONAL SUCCESS. PARTICIPANTS IN THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE ADULTS TRANSITIONING FROM WELFARE-TO-WORK, INCARCERATED PERSONS PREPARING FOR LIFE AFTER JAIL, AND OTHER POPULATIONS SEEKING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: SERVICES INCLUDE A WIDE RANGE OF SCHOOL-TO-LIFE TRANSITION SERVICES SUCH AS CAREER EXPLORATION, JOB READINESS AND PLACEMENT, INTERNSHIPS, COLLEGE PREPARATION, CAREER SKILLS TRAINING, LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, MENTORING AND SUPPORTS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING. THESE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO MAKE SURE YOUTH HAVE THE PERSONAL AND ACADEMIC TOOLS THEY NEED TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL ADULTS.
