PERFORMING ARTS SERIES: THIS SERIES IS DESIGNED TO ENTERTAIN, ENRICH, AND INSPIRE AUDIENCES OF ALL AGES THROUGH PERFORMANCES BY NATIONALLY KNOWN AND LOCAL PERFORMING ARTISTS. AUDIENCES ARE EXPOSED TO VARIOUS GENRES, TECHNIQUES, STORIES, STYLES OF MUSIC, DANCE, AND THEATRE WHICH COULD NOT BE EXPERIENCED ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE REGION. GATEWAY ARTS COUNCIL PLACES THE HIGHEST PRIORITY ON PROVIDING THE COMMUNITY ACCESS TO CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES.
VISUAL ARTS SERIES: THE VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM INCLUDES THE SPRING FLING FINE ARTS SHOW WHICH GIVES LOCAL ARTISTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXHIBIT AND SELL THEIR WORK AT A JURIED EVENT. IT ANNUALLY ATTRACTS AROUND 100 ARTISTS AND DISPLAYS ABOUT 250 PIECES OF ART. THE SHOW IS COMPRISED OF WORKS IN THE FOLLOWING MEDIA: DRAWING, OIL ACRYLICS, PHOTOGRAPHY, CERAMICS, WATER COLOR, AND MISCELLANEOUS ART. LOCAL ART TEACHERS ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT THE BEST WORKS OF THEIR STUDENTS FOR A CONCURRENT NON-JURIED STUDENT EVENT. THE SHOW IS FREE, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, AND RUNS FOR TWO WEEKS DURING WHICH ALL COUNTY THIRD GRADE TEACHERS ARE INVITED.
YOUTH EDUCATION SERIES: GATEWAY ARTS COUNCILS YOUTH EDUCATION SERIES PROMOTES, PRESERVES, AND ENCOURAGES THE CREATIVITY, IMAGINATION, AND INNOVATION INHERENT IN ALL CHILDREN. THE PROGRAMMING OFFERS THE LITERARY, THEATRICAL, AND MUSICAL ARTS - CLASSICAL AND CURRENT, AS WELL AS THE VISUAL ARTS. THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE SERIES IS TO STRENGHTEN YOUNG PEOPLES CAPACITY TO LEARN AND PRESENT THEM WITH POSITIVE OUTLETS FOR THEIR ENERGY AND OPPORTUNITIES TO CULTIVATE THEIR IMAGINATION AND PREPARE THEM TO ASSUME THEIR ROLES AS PRODUCTIVE AND CREATIVE MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES.
