OBERLIN COMMUNITY SERVICES COUNCIL IS A RESPONSIVE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES DIRECT ASSISTANCE, REFERRALS, OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT TO LORAIN COUNTY RESIDENTS WHO STRUGGLE TO MEET BASIC NEEDS.

DURING THE FISCAL YEAR THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 36,000 POINTS OF SERVICE THROUGH ITS FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMS, GIVING AWAY OVER 500,000 POUNDS TO OVER 3900 PEOPLE. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE WEEKLY FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS AND FOOD DELIVERIES, MEALS ON WHEELS, MOBILE PRODUCE PANTRIES, AFTERSCHOOL SNACKS, SUMMER LUNCHES FOR CHILDREN, AND CSFP SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD FOR LOW INCOME SENIORS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED SUPPORT AND CASEWORK FOR OVER 750 HOUSEHOLDS, PROVIDING OVER $165,000 IN DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS FOR HOUSING, UTILITIES, MEDICATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION.
