LEGACY CHARITIES' MISSION IS TO PROVIDE LIFE SAVING SURGERIES AND A LOVING HOME TO ORPHANS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS FROM AROUND CHINA AND VIETNAM, EXPANDING FURTHER INTO SOUTHEAST ASIA.

LEGACY CHARITIES IS INVOLVED IN FACILITATING PROGRAMS THAT BRING INDIGENT ORPHANED INFANTS, TODDLERS, YOUNG CHILDREN WITH MEDICAL NEEDS, AND BLIND CHILDREN INTO FOSTER CARE. LEGACY CHARITIES FACILITATES AND ASSISTS WITH CARE OF THE ORPHANS IN APPROPRIATE FACILITIES, PROVIDES NUTRITIONAL CARE, ARRANGES MEDICAL CARE AND SURGICALPROCEDURES AS NEEDED. LEGACY CHARITIES WORKED ON SEVERAL MAJOR PROJECTS IN 2022: FORMULA PROJECT: SUPPLIES INFANT MILK POWDER TO PARTNER ORPHANAGES FOR INFANT UNTIL THEY TURN ONE. WE MONITOR THE CHILDREN'S GROWTH PROGRESS AND PROVIDE ADDITIONAL NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS AND ANY MEDICAL CARE NEEDED. DURING 2022, 12 CHILDREN BENEFITED FROM THIS PROJECT. CHINA FOSTER PROGRAM: DUE TO CHANGES IN CHINESE POLICY, ALL CHILDREN IN OUR PROGRAM WERE RETURNED TO THEIR RESPECTIVE ORPHANAGE. WE HAVE BEEN GRANTED PERMISSION TO OPERATE ONE OF 18 ORPHANAGES NATIONWIDE THAT WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE FUTURE TO PLACE CHILDREN IN FOSTER FAMILIES. WE CURRENTLY ARE PROVIDING ASSISTANCE FOR 94 CHILDREN AND ARE PROUD TO SAY THAT NO CHILDREN UNDER OUR PROGRAMS DIED IN 2022. ELIOS AND EMERALD PROGRAMS: EXPANSION OF EXISTING FOSTER SERVICES PROGRAMS IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF CHINA WITH NEW LOCAL ORPHANAGES. THIS EXPANSION BRINGS OUR TOTAL CHILDREN UNDER OUR NEW DAY CHINA PROJECTS UP TO 77. VIETNAM PROJECT: IN ADDITION TO WORKING WITH STATE ORPHANAGES, WE PARTICIPATE IN HELPING SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN OF DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES, PROVIDING STRENGTH & SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILIES WHILE PROVIDING SURGICAL & MEDICAL CARE FOR THE CHILDREN. WE ALSO PROVIDE THESE SERVICES FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE OR STATE ORPHANAGES. THE VISION OF THE PEDIATRIC GLOBAL NURSING EDUCATION PROGRAM IS TO IMPROVE HEALTH OUTCOMES IN CHILDREN IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES BY IMPROVING NURSE COMPETENCY IN PEDIATRIC NURSING SKILLS THROUGH GLOBAL EDUCATION OUTREACH PROGRAMS. IN 2022 WE PROVIDED FULLY COVERED SURGERIES FOR 14 CHILDREN. IN ADDITION TO MEDICAL SERVICES WE ARE PROVIDING ONGOING SUPPORT TO 7 COLLEGE STUDENTS, 5 OF WHOM HAVE GRADUATED. WE ARE ALSO PROUD TO NOTE THAT NO CHILDREN IN OUR PROGRAMS IN VIET NAM DIED IN 2022.
