THE MISSION OF THE SAN DIEGO FUTURES FOUNDATION IS TO IMPROVE LIVES IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY BY MAKING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE TO UNDERSERVED INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIOS AND DISADVANTAGED SMALL BUSINESSES THROUGH TRAINING, EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT.

RETAIL OPERATIONS OF RECYCLED COMPUTERS TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES AND CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS DONATED FOR THE COST OF REFURBISHING. THE COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY CENTER PROVIDES TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION AND COMPUTERS TO QUALIFIED COMMUNITY MEMBERS FOR A REFURBISHING FEE.SINCE INCEPTION, THE ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED MORE THAN 58,000 COMPUTERS TO SAN DIEGO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. THESE CONSIST OF DONATED EQUIPMENT THAT HAS BEEN REFURBISHED AND UPDATED.
PROVIDE RELIABLE, LOW-COST PROFESSIONAL ON-SITE AND REMOTE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER COMMUNITY AGENCIES, PROVIDE LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY WITH TECHNOLOGY, INCLUDING COMPUTERS, SOFTWARE, TRAINING AND RELATED RESOURCES. SAN DIEGO FUTURES FOUNDATION ADDED AN ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM THAT TRAINS INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR NEAR-BLIND TO USE COMPUTERS.
