COACHING AND SPONSORING COMPETITIVE YOUTH CANOE AND KAYAK RACING. PREPARING YOUTH FOR NATIONAL TEAM AND OLYMPIC COMPETITION.

SDCKT SUCCEEDED IN TRAINING AND TRAVELED WITH OUR JUNIOR RACING TEAM TO COMPETE AT NATIONALS DESPITE CONTINUED COVID PROTOCOLS. WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF OUR COACH, HE SUPPORTED AN ATHLETE AT PARALYMPICS GAMES INCREASING THE AWARENESS OF OUR CLUB IN THE PARA-ATHLETE COMMUNITY. OUR YOUTH MEMBERS VOLUNTEERED AT CAF IN OCTOBER. OPEN HOUSE WAS DELAYED TO NOVEMBER 13, 2021 BECAUSE OF COVID CONCERNS BUT HAD A DECENT TURNOUT CONSIDERING THE SITUATION. SDCKT HOSTED CPR TRAINING FOR COACHES AND OTHER INTERESTED MEMBERS IN NOVEMBER. THE CLUB HOSTED A WOUNDED WARRIOR EVENT IN DECEMBER. SDCKT JUNIOR RACING TEAM MARCHED IN THE PACIFIC BEACH HOLIDAY PARADE, HANDING OUT FLYERS AND GIFTS TO HIGHLIGHT OUR YOUTH PROGRAMS AND BOATING AND WATER SAFETY INITIATIVES.
