CAMPAIGNS & DIRECT ACTION: MODELING A DIVERSITY OF ENGAGEMENT STRATEGIES THAT DECLOAK OPPRESSION, PROVIDE MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPATION IN NONVIOLENT ACTIVISM TO OUR MEMBERS, AND SEEK ACCOUNTABILITY FROM SYSTEMS AND INSTITUTIONS. IN 2021, WE FISCALLY SPONSORED THE RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION ACCOUNTABILITY PROJECT WHICH EMPOWERS QUEER, TRANS AND NON-BINARY STUDENTS AT MORE THAN 200 TAXPAYER-FUNDED RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS THAT ACTIVELY DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY/EXPRESSION, INTERVENING THROUGH CIVIL RIGHTS LITIGATION, DOCUMENTARY FILM, ORAL HISTORY, RESEARCH AND PUBLIC POLICY. IN 2021, REAP ORGANIZED 49 PLAINTIFFS FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ABOUT DISCRMINATION AT CHRISTIAN COLLEGES, AMPLIFIED THE STORIES OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST LGBTQ STUDENTS AT CHRISTIAN COLLEGES TO OVER 100 NEWS SOURCES, AND HAD OVER 45,000 VIEWS OF THEIR WEBSITE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE LAWSUIT.
SPIRITUAL RECLAMATION AND HEALING: DEVELOPING LANGUAGE, TOOLS, AND SPACES THAT CENTER SPIRITUAL RECLAMATION AS AN ACT OF POLITICAL SOVEREIGNTY AT THE CRUX OF OUR ACTIVISM AND MOVEMENTS. IN 2021, WE FACILITATED SPIRITUAL RECLAMATORY SPACE VIA 8 EVENTS.
