PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO MANY SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING NON-PROFIT EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN 2023 INCLUDING: SAN DIEGO CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY MUSEUM FOR THEIR ACCESS FOR ALL PROGRAM; NORTH COUNTY EDUCATION FOUNDATION FOR THEIR 2023 SUPER STEM SATURDAY EVENT; EXPANDING YOUR HORIZONS-SAN DIEGO FOR THEIR 2023 EYH CONFERENCE; OCEAN DISCOVERY INSTITUTE FOR THEIR IN-SCHOOL MARINE EDUCATION PROGRAM; GIRLS RISING FOR THEIR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM; SAN DIEGO NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM FOR THEIR EDUCATION PROGRAMS; BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF GREATER SAN DIEGO FOR STEM PROGRAMS; A STEP BEYOND FOR THEIR WORLD OF WORK PROGRAM; ALL GIRLS STEM SOCIETY FOR THEIR STEM PROGRAMS; AIR & SPACE FORCES ASSOCIATION CYBERPATRIOT AND STELLARXPLORERS PROGRAMS; UCSD BIRCH AQUARIUM FOR K-12 EDUCATION PROGRAMS; GREATER THAN TECH FOR THEIR COMMUNITY ROBOTICS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMS.


GENERAL ATOMICS SCIENTISTS ENGINEERS SUPPORTING SCIENCE ENGINEERING FOR STUDENTS GASSSS PROGRAM SUPPORTED 209 ENGINEERS AND SCIENTISTS IN 2023 TO PERFORM SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES AND REIMBURSED THEM FOR $30,000 IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING MATERIALS THAT THEY PURCHASED AND PROVIDED TO THOSE SCHOOLS OR ACTIVITIES. THESE ACTIVITIES RANGED FROM TALKING TO STUDENTS ABOUT THEIR CAREERS AND PROVIDING CAREER MENTORING GIVING SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING DEMONSTRATIONS TO STUDENTS ASSISTING TEACHERS WITH SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING LESSONS MENTORING HIGH SCHOOL ROBOTICS CLUBS OR PROVIDING SUPPORT TO REGIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING COMPETITIONS SUCH AS SCIENCE FAIRS. ON AVERAGE EACH OF THESE ACTIVITIES INVOLVED ABOUT 30 STUDENTS SO APPROXIMATELY 6000 STUDENTS WERE INVOLVED IN THESE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING OUTREACH ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES.


THE GENERAL ATOMICS SCIENCES EDUCATION FOUNDATION PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR THE INNOVATIONS FOR LEARNING INC. CHAPTER ONE LITERACY PROGRAM AT THE NEW HAVEN SCHOOL DISTRICT IN UNION CITY CALIFORNIA AREA FIRST GRADE CLASSROOMS WHERE 21 GENERAL ATOMICS EMPLOYEES PROVIDED ON-LINE TUTORING OF STUDENTS IN READING AND SCIENCE STORIES DURING THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR AND IN DENVER COLORADO AREA SCHOOLS WHERE 17 GENERAL ATOMICS EMPLOYEES PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM DURING THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR.


THE GENERAL ATOMICS SCIENCES EDUCATION FOUNDATION ALSO JUDGED AND PROVIDED AWARDS AT THE 2023 GREATER SAN DIEGO SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR. THE FOUNDATION ALSO ORGANIZED AND PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR 2023 OUTREACH ACTIVITIES AT THE APPLE VALLEY AIRSHOW SAN DIEGO FLEET WEEK THE X-STEM SAN DIEGO EVENT SAN DIEGO ENGINEERS WEEK AWARDS BANQUET MARCH AIR FORCE BASE AIRSHOW AND THE SAN MARCOS MULTI-INDUSTRY CONNECT TO CAREERS EVENT.
