ERS SERVES AS A DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL FOR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, TEACHER EDUCATION, AND RESEARCH IN CONJUNCTION WITH MAJOR COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. ERS IS A RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL THAT OPERATES ON A YEAR ROUND SCHEDULE, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM IS CONDUCTED OVER THREE THIRTEEN-WEEK TRIMESTERS. THE SCHOOL ENROLLS STUDENTS ON FULL SCHOLARSHIPS (COVERING TUITION, ROOM, AND BOARD). GRANTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION ARE PROVIDED TO STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE THE PROGRAM.
THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER ("PDC") AT ERS HOSTS VISITING LECTURERS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY AND OFFERS A VARIETY OF LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO PRE-STUDENT TEACHERS, STUDENT TEACHERS, GRADUATE STUDENTS AND RESEARCHERS. THE PDC SUPPORTED PUBLIC ALLIES TEACHING FELLOWS, A TEACHER LICENSURE PROGRAM, AND HOSTED VISITOR DAYS ON CAMPUS DURING THE YEAR. THE PDC ALSO SUPPORTED SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS AROUND THE COUNTRY THROUGH NETWORK LEVERAGED, SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS DESIGNED TO ENGAGE DISENGAGED, UNDERSERVED YOUTH.
