THE "MUTUAL HELPFULNESS AND PROMOTION OF ALL PHASES OF MUSIC EDUCATION IN ALL SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES BY ALL LEGITIMATE AND EFFECTIVE MEANS". THE ORGANIZATION CARRIES OUT THESE OBJECTIVES THROUGH A BROAD PROGRAM OF EDUCATION AND ENRICHMENT. THE PROGRAMS ARE BOTH STUDENT ORIENTED AND TEACHER ORIENTED.

THE CENTRAL ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS VARIOUS ACTIVITIES SUPPORTING ITS MISSION OF PROVIDING BROAD PROGRAMS OF EDUCATION AND ENRICHMENT IN MUSIC EDUCATION TO BOTH STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. THE FOLLOWING DETAILS THE ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:ANNUAL PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE IN EARLY FEBRUARY - ATTENDED BY 2,000 TEACHERS - OVER 3,000 STUDENTS PERFORM IN APPROXIMATELY 20 CONCERTS - OVER 200 WORKSHOPS AND CLINICS ARE PRESENTED TO ATTENDING TEACHERSANNUAL RESEARCH IN MUSIC EDUCATION CONFERENCE - ATTENDED BY OVER 30 TEACHERSSTATE MARCHING BAND ADJUDICATED EVENT - OVER 125 HIGH SCHOOL BANDS PERFORMING - OVER 12,000 STUDENTS PARTICIPATE - OVER 23,000 PARENTS ATTENDALL-STATE PERFORMING ENSEMBLES - OVER 500 STUDENTS PARTICIPATE - OVER 10,000 PARENTS ATTEND THE CONFERENCETRIAD MAGAZINE PUBLISHED FOR MEMBERS OF OMEA - PRODUCED IN DIGITAL FORMAT AND AVAILABLE ONLINE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC - 3 ISSUES PER YEAR
