Part 3 - Line 1
CREATING GENDER EQUALITY FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS IN CENTRAL OHIO.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE WORK OF THE WOMEN'S FUND, IN ADDITION TO BEING A FUNDER/GRANTMAKER IS BEING AN ORGANIZATION THAT RAISES AWARENESS AND EDUCATION ABOUT SOCIAL CHANGE FOR WOMEN/GIRLS, WHAT IT MEANS TO APPLY A GENDER LENS TO COMMUNITY ISSUES, AND FUNDAMENTALLY/PROGRAMMATICALLY DEVELOPS WOMEN AS PHILANTHROPISTS. THIS WORK OF THE ORGANIZATION IS SIGNIFICANTLY DEMONSTRATED AT THE ANNUAL KEYHOLDER EVENT WHERE OVER 2,000 COMMUNITY GUESTS ARE IN ATTENDANCE.
THE ENDURING PROGRESS INITIATIVE IS AN INTENTIONAL EFFORT BY THE WOMEN'S FUND OF CENTRAL OHIO TO CLOSE THE EXTRAORDINARY FUNDING GAP FACED BY ORGANIZATIONS LED BY AND FOR WOMEN OF COLOR. CURRENT DATA DEMONSTRATES THAT WOMEN AND GIRLS OF COLOR RECEIVE LESS THAN .5% OF PHILANTHROPIC FUNDING. THROUGH THE ENDURING PROGRESS INITIATIVE, THE WOMEN'S FUND RAISES SIGNIFICANT DOLLARS TO CONFRONT THE DISCRIMINATORY NATURE OF TRADITIONAL PHILANTHROPY AND USES THOSE FUNDS TO MAKE SIGNIFICANT, UNRESTRICTED GRANTS OF AT LEAST $50,000 TO ORGANIZATIONS LED BY AND FOR WOMEN OF COLOR TO HELP THEM BUILD CAPACITY AND QUICKLY SCALE THEIR IMPACT.
