FOUNDERS HALL IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING A DIVERSE PROGRAM OF SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND PHYSICAL FITNESS PROGRAMS FOR TODAY'S ACTIVE SENIORS IN A WARM, FUN AND STIMULATING ATMOSPHERE.

SEMESTER PROGRAMS: OUR DIVERSE AND DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES FOR LIFE-LONG LEARNING. IN 2021, MORE THAN 3,300 PEOPLE WERE INSPIRED BY CLASSES IN ART, TECHNOLOGY, CURRENT EVENTS, GENEALOGY, HISTORY, INVESTMENTS, LITERATURE, LANGUAGES, MUSIC, WRITING AND MORE. OVER 75 FOUNDERS HALL INSTRUCTORS TAUGHT SENIOR LEARNERS; AND, THOSE LEARNERS BROUGHT LIFETIMES OF WISDOM TO THE DISCUSSION, ENRICHING THE EXPERIENCE FOR ALL. MEMBERS EXPRESSED THEIR CREATIVITY THROUGH CLASSES IN CHORUS, DRAWING, PORTRAITURE, WATERCOLORS, OIL PAINTING, WEAVING, QUILTING, SEWING, KNITTING, CROCHETING, RUG HOOKING AND WOOD CARVING. STILL IN THE MIDST OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, PROGRAMS REMAINED VIRTUAL UNTIL JUNE OF 2021. AT THAT TIME, PROGRAMS WERE OFFERED ON-LINE OR IN-PERSON - OR A COMBINATION OF THE TWO.
FITNESS PROGRAM:OUR MEMBERS KNOW THAT IF THEY'RE GOING TO KEEP LEARNING, THEY HAVE TO KEEP MOVING. SO DURING 2021, MEMBERS TOOK ALL KINDS OF FITNESS CLASSES THROUGH FOUNDERS HALL, FROM SIMPLE STRETCHING TO HARD-CORE STRENGTHENING AS WELL AS AEROBICS, BASKETBALL CLINICS, PICKLEBALL, YOGA, DANCING AND MORE. IN JUNE, SOME IN-PERSON CLASSES WERE OFFERED IN ADDITION TO THE ON-LINE PROGRAMS.
SOCIAL EVENTS AND TRIPS: AT FOUNDERS HALL, LIFELONG RESIDENTS AND THOSE NEW TO TOWN ALL DISCOVER A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY THAT UNDERSTANDS THE OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF LIFE AFTER 60. MEMBERS ENJOYED GETTING TOGETHER VIRTUALLY, THROUGH 'DRIVE-BY' EVENTS, AND IN-PERSON BEGINNING WITH THE INDEPENDENCE DAY PICNIC IN JULY.
