THE MISSION OF NAMI JUNEAU, THE LOCAL AFFILIATE OF THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS, IS TO PROVIDE ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, SUPPORT, AND PUBLIC AWARENESS SO THAT ALL INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY MENTAL ILLNESS CAN BUILD BETTER LIVES.

NAMI JUNEAU IS THE LOCAL AFFILIATE OF THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS. NAMI JUNEAU OFFERS PEER-DRIVEN EDUCATION, SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY PROGRAMS FOR INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS, THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AND CAREGIVERS. NAMI JUNEAU OFFERS A UNIQUE ONGOING MONTHLY FORUM ON MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS CALLED INSIDE PASSAGES. NAMI JUNEAU ALSO ENGAGES IN ADVOCACY, MONITORING MENTAL HEALTH LEGISLATION IN THE ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE AND ADVOCATING FOR THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHOSE LIVES ARE AFFECTED BY MENTAL ILLNESS. IN FY21, NAMI JUNEAU SUPPORTED APPROXIMATELY 300 PEOPLE THROUGH THE THREE LARGEST EDUCATION AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS.
